 This shot was possibly more complicated than it looks... miniature culinary blowtorch, thick book as background, pages spread. Camera rotated 45 degrees or so to give a more dramatic angle. Longish exposure to make the flame glow better.

Halogen desk lamp reflected off wooden table for the firey glow fill light, which was turned off mid-exposure to keep the background dim. Highlight painted on with a blue LED keyring.

Shot with the 100-400 at the wide end with a couple of extension tubes, using the zoom to focus. Mirror lockup and cable release.

Editing: Tiny increase in contrast and brightness, cloning out dust specks on the blowtorch, a hot pixel, and a bit of sensor dust. No crop! Resize, sharpen.
