Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: 2-Second Exposure (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED
Location: My apartment / Singapore
Date: Mar 13, 2006
Aperture: F22
ISO: 200
Shutter: 2 seconds
Galleries: Abstract, Studio
Date Uploaded: Mar 13, 2006

This 'double time' effect was gained via 2 x repeating flash @ 1 second interval. Shutter open for exactly 2 seconds of course. I expect some voter confusion around:
1. what it is... hopefully some people will see a clock...
2. whether this was a double exposure or not (it wasn't :) )

Post processing involved levels and saturation to blow out highlights, and bring back the colours. I burnt the moving second hand and shadows slightly as they are were less vivid than the stationary parts of the scene.

Lovely rendition with such a lovely understatement of colors yet so lovely. Bumping up.

I am surprised that there is no motion blur as the second hand moved. Nice pic anyway, good colors and lighting.

Looks suspiciously handmade rather than a real timepiece, though I've been known to be way off before LOL.

The best clock photo in the challenge. I think it helped that you zoomed in so close and have a tight crop.

I like the concept, nicely done.

I like the abstract quality of this shot.. the colors are great.. focus is crisp.. very well done

This might have done better if the second hand was shown in three positions. It looks like only one second has passed.

Good abstract. I would not know what this is without the title!

You are (IMO) the only one that made this idea work (and many tried). I love the simplicity, the colours. Well done - one of my faves.

Yes, I love this, Great composition and colour selection. Mondrian would have been proud of this.

My only concern is that I expect to see a slight blur as the second hand swept through. That being said this has a stronger composition because of the sharpness of the hands.

nice and simple and effective

Great idea, and nice execution of it.
