Challenge: Fill the Frame (Classic Editing)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE 7i
Location: Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland, OH
Date: Jul 27, 2003
Aperture: f 3.5
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Landscape, Architecture
Date Uploaded: Jul 27, 2003

Entrance to a mausoleum in one on of Cleveland's oldest cemeteries. It is only one of hundreds built around the late 1800s and early 1900s. Felt the subtle soft colors blended nicely. Only editing was to adjust for size. Composition was set in the camera lens. Took six shots adjusting only ISO on each.

drydoc, this has got to be one of my favourites. I love doorways, and cemetaries, and architecture of course. Have yet to create some shots of my own, but will soon. Maybe once I get them up I can get some pointers? Anyways, great photo!

Greetings from the Critique Club (and congratulations on having such a fine camera ;) )

What I like about this shot: Interesting subject and well-framed by the vines. Makes the viewer wonder what's in there, or what the door leads too. Coloring and focus are both very well-done.

My only suggestion, really, would be the composition of the photo. Having the door dead-center (no pun intended) makes the photo seems somewhat dull and doesn't lend itself to much creativity. If it had been me, I would have tried some shots from a lower angle to make the door seem more massive or eerie.

Great shot and good score. Keep up the good work. Make us DiMAGE people look good...

There's some interesting texture in that door, which I think I'd like to see in a more close-up shot.

Quite beautiful. The centeredness works well here, as does the framing by the vines at the top of the frame.

Well cropped, very square and balanced. The focus is spot on, not soft at all - 7.

Nice photo. It would have been a little more interesting to me if the door hadn't been perfectly centered. I love the door and the stone....I love all elements in this photo.

I think this door looks like it could be just any door to anything. Perhaps you could have included a little more of the structure?
