 The earth is a globe I made for some science project I cannot remember taking part in. I repainted it to make it look more rad. I also used some make-up on my hand to give it freckles; I don\'t know why, but I envision God\'s hand to look ethnic.
The picture was a long exposure under a blue penlight; the least harsh light source I had. I hope that this will fare better than my footwear entry, which I expected to do much better than it currently is.

The monitor at my house somehow makes my images brighter than most are capable of showing. It didn't look anywhere near as dark at home.

I really like your idea here, but I feel it is way too underexposed and noisy.

Nice idea. The image is just too dark. At least consider bumping up the levels in Photoshop.

i like the concept but some things that might help improve this:
the lighting is too dark. i agree a dark background is probably ideal for the theme of this photo, but "God's" hand should be illuminate at least. also, i know you might be limited by available materials by a glob with writing on it and clear dilineations of state size, along with regional color-coding, makes it a bit less believable. i know there are globes available without political information that would seem more appropriate for a whole "hand of god descending on earth" feel. just some thoughts
