Although not looking for a photo opp, I saw this little guy flying around and land on a wall next to the house I am currently renovating. I quickly ran to get my camera, and when I came back, was very disappointed to see that he was gone. I looked around, and found him flying towards my wife's side garden, and land on one of her cone flowers. He then sat there while I shot a few shots, then flew away and came back for more. Very cooperative of him considering my lens was about an inch away from him.
It was a perfect fluke that his colours matched the colours surrounding him: the orange from the flowers, the white from the wall and the bricks all matched his colours.
In PS, slight crop, very slight level and saturation adjustments. Resize, USM and border. |

| Nice capture though a little more exposure would bring out the details in the dark areas of the wings. Less DOF would allow for a much more blurred background. |

| Great timing to get the wings both spread like that. The focus on thebutterfly is pretty good too. I'd like to see it framed a little better. (maybe more to the right) and a softer background. |
