Sometimes it's the little what we appreciate so much. I admit the pciture is set up. I wanted to convey some sophistry (right word?) with the plant being the small "garden" of somebody who does not have a real garden. I would have loved to have a city skyline as the background to make this more understandable, but I didn't find a good location for that.

I used slective gaussian blur to smooth out some dust and specks. This had the fortunate effect of increasing the shallow DOF. The trees in the background were even more blurred while the foreground stayed sharp.

I did not vote in this challenge, because of time issues, but I think you have done an excellent and creative job of meeting the challenge. I guess my only beef would be that it wasn't really "in" the garden, but other than that, I think it is an awesome idea.

I do think the reflection detracts a little. At first it didn't bother me, but as i looked at it, my eyes began to cross and it was like part of the picture was out of focus (not the deliberately out of focus part,). I like that the plant is so well lit and visible in front of the blurry greenery outside. It would have been neat to have a cityscape behind it, but I guess we can't have everything.

Something about the shadowed part across the bottom makes it feel unbalanced to me. Perhaps if it were cropped so that just the shelf, and not the shadow were showing this could be helped OR give just a bit more room on the right.

Good work and best wishes to you in future challenges.

I'm happy that the photo did relatively well and people liked joke.
I didn't recognise the reflection in the windows as a distratcing element before. But I agree that it would have been better without it. Time to by a polariser filter :)

Now that's funny. Why didn't I think of that, I could have sprouted another bean. See my portfolio. Nice idea. 7

Perfect except for the reflection of the watering can in the window. Great Shot!

Nice idea and I like the space, allowing you to reflect on what the plant will be one day. [7]

The reflections of the watering can in the window are a real problem for me here. Otherwise the lighting is excellent, and the composition pretty good. Not completely sure that the window frame and the outside helps or distracts from it though.

I like the simplicitiy of both the image and the (pun, beware) budding garden. The reflection on the window pane rather upsets the integrity of the water pot. 5
