"Yellow revisited" was my very first challenge, so I had to enter this one to see if I improved in the intervening year and 3 months ;)
Had one original idea but could not implement it, that idea required a piece of melon and a cute child, but my own cute child is a sophomore in college in Boston, and I could not find a replacement on a short notice... so, decided to resort to flowers... sorry :).
placed a Narcissus in front of a black seamless paper on a yellowish wooden table - that's where the reflected color on the water surface is from, not the flower. I did not plan this ahead, but i think it is a nice touch. Lighted from above with my new Alien Bee (yeah!) and shot with my sharpest 50mm lens at f/13.
in p/p rotated slightly, cropped, played with levels/saturation a little, cloned out minor blotches on the glass, a little Neat Image, sharpened, resized, more USM, put a thin frame, saved.

So wonderful lighting, shades and details, I have to share giega's opinion: man, you are robbed. This is a top quality photo, yes, a sad moody, but you can't be happy all the time, can you? And the fact that daffos are the symbols of happiness and spring, this deepens the dramatic influence on me. This is a fine photo and I would have voted 9 for it, but as I am not a member yet.
Don't be upset, it's not only you who doesn't understand it. It's almaost the same with my Children's toy entry, 2 comments yet, both very helpful and noble, but I can't beleive that it's not interesting enough for anyone else to leave a comment.
Because you asked in a thread "What was wrong with this photo?", here is my humble opinion.
I didn't vote, but when I looked at it just now, I felt let down.
Daffodils have such a happy bright color and are one of the clearest symbols of spring.
However, instead of happy and bright, I saw one solitary flower, wilting, in dark light.
Your image - to MY eyes - looks depressing, perhaps even foreboding.
I am not against photos of that sort of mood, but I prefer it when the mood matches the subject - e.g. an abandoned building, cemetary, forest (and many many more) are great for a dark mood; but daffodils are NOT on that list.
Please don't get mad at me. Those are MY emotions, and feelings aren't right or wrong, they just ARE.
IMHO, you got robbed. I think the photo is nicely balanced, great illumination, detail, sharpness. Flower wilted? Yes, that's what they do, it ads character. Also, nice yellow reflection on the water. Great work.
Flawless placement of the very clean vase and water within the frame, in my opinion. Like the frame too, even though I normally don't like this kind of frame - fits perfectly here.
