I think that this shot is very well constructed. I like the crop, and flow of the pic. Interesting subject and great color potential. Fatal Flaws: Out of focus. Clarity is the #1 issue in photography. You shot this with a
90-300 mm lens and i would guess that you did not use a tripod. There is a rule of thumb that I will probably misquote but it has to do with the relationship between the focal length and the shutter speed when hand holding a camera. In short you would have reasonably needed to use a 1/90 or faster shutterspeed if you did not use a tripod. Your slow shutterspeed made clarity impossible. I would recommend looking up the correctly stated rule. Its important.
Good luck

Not very sharp, maybe not well focused. Interesting subject though

Picture too fuzzy. Would have been ok if at least the head was in sharper focus.

Looking at this I can definately see the texture etc, but as the shot isn't in focus it's a little different to give it a top score. Maybe a faster shutter speed, bump up your ISO to get that if it's too dark. A great effore though, 7

This image has a lot of movement making it slightly blurred, too bad because the texture of this creature is amazing!
