I found it very hard to think of a setup, the only refracting object I had at home was an ashtray. The idea of the cigarette came later and the rainbow in the smoke was real hard to capture. Curious to know what you think of the picture.

The negative space took my attention to the cigarette which took my attention to the smoke --- and then, seeking 'Refraction of Light', I discovered a 'rainbow'. Very clever. Very subtle. And nice composition.

Sorry, I don't get the connection to the subject. There is an atmospheric darkness here that is evocative, yet it's hard to get very drawn in by it.

Is the picture really so dark, or is it just my monitor? Well, in any case, i am not comfortable with so much of negative space
