Overall I like this shot but there are a few things I note that detract from it for me. The vertical bar on the left of the photo really draws my eye away from the subject, especially considering how bright it is. The crop, too, so tall and narrow. I think I understand that you were emphasizing the lankiness of the fellow by doing so, but it makes me hesitate... not sure about it.
I do like the composition, however. Others commented that he is just hanging there but to me it communicates exhaustion and fatigue. The exposure is good but the b/w conversion is a bit bland in my opinion. Overall a nice first entry... it scored much better than my first! :o) |

I like the duotone effect, but that's about it. Really strange angle. |

Thank you so much for the comments.
It wasn't posed at all, he didn't even know i'd taken one, i just found it when i uploaded and really liked it, and i thought it was a good chance to try the duotone effect.
I'm fairly pleased how this has done, 216th out of 393, could of been alot worse. I even managed a few 8's, 9's, and 10's, so thanks to everybody who voted and commented, they really give you feedback (obviously) and help me out from other's point's of views.
So thanks.

elongated torso shot of a guy hanging from a bar...nothing connects me with this. maybe if you had a shot of him actually doing a chinup, sweaty faced and grimacing, you would have had a story to pull me into. as is, i'm left out of it. |

I like the shades in this photograph. And its hard to tell if it is a posed pic or not. I like pics that arent necessarily posed for, so that helps me when I am voting. |

Capture this when he's up, it creates a better effect, I guess. Cheers! |

I don't usually like comments or give them, but since candids are near and dear to my heart, I have decided to comment on every photo in this challenge.
The tones here don't really do it for me. They are too soft to capture pain or anquish. I would have liked to see a deep sepia here with a lot of attention to HMS to bring out the feel more. It's a 5 vote from me. |
