Desaturation did nothing for the photo. Needs a tighter crop for interest. |

I don't really like the selective color treatment on this one. I think it detracts from the emotion of the photo... |

I don't usually like comments or give them, but since candids are near and dear to my heart, I have decided to comment on every photo in this challenge.
I don't know why some feel they need to do this partial desat thing. I really dislike the effect and the trend, especially in this photo. She is the one hurting yet is full of happy color, yet, if anything, the man consoling her should have the color and her desaturated to bring out the emotion of sadness. A photo better left to a full b/w or sepia conversion to me. I also don't like the crop. This would have otherwise been a decent candid, but to me you lost it in PP. A 4 vote from me. |

The selective desaturation here is not working well because colors left are not complementary. |

The selective coloring really detracts from what could be a really great picture. |
