Little girl and her mother. Mom looked away for a second and little one decided to take a sip. Mom still tried to grab it (hence moms expression), but it wass too late.
One can see the naughty guilty look and the childs eyes.

Last week was the celebration of Passover, during which every person attending the Seder or ritual meal -- children included -- is commanded to drink four glasses of wine.

A sip of wine with dinner is more likely to promote a healthy and moderate attitude towards alcohol, rather than making it "forbidden fruit" more subject to secret, irresponsible overconsumption or teetotalling, both of which are (statistically) less healthy than moderate drinking.

so, this is the morally objectionable image. o dear. surely part of a candid is that it's a slice of life taken out of context. the camera lies - don't these people know that?

anyway, it's a great shot, but you could have played with levels or curves a bit more?

This would look more candid if the woman's hand wasn't holding the glass up to his lips.

Is this worn-out gal his mom? Even if so, let's call the moral police and stop underage drinking. Strange subjects sometime can take away from the unposed qualities of the shot and I fear such is the case here.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

This is a cute snapshot, but not what I look for particularly in a candid. Children's emotions and actions are virtually uncontained. They are easy and prime targets for candids. I like to see something a bit more out of the ordinary. As for technicals, I believe there is good focus here, but the lighting looks blue, as if it were set for incondescent lighting indoors. It badly needed some tonal adjustments. I would have converted it to b/w and given some attention to HMS. It's a 3 for me.

the tones are really off. would be a nice pic if it were less purplishblue...

I'm not sure what it is, but the colors look a little off. The colors don't seem warm enough. The wine is really dark too, it would have been nice if you had some color in the wine.

Colour temperature problems serve only to make this child look ill, to me. The flash exposure is unfortunate for the shaping and definition too.

Not only does this lack in technical and artistic appeal, I disagree with it on a moral level. This is a terrible idea, giving wine to a toddler.

your white balance seems a little off.

Natural lighting would have made this one better
