 My brother's cat, Turkey (that was his name when they got him from the pound, honest!) Afternoon sunlight coming in the window, Turkey on his blanket. Liked the texture of the blanket and the single claw showing. Handheld.

So I open this picture and I think to myself "man this cat looks comfy. Way comfier than my cat pic. It just oozes comfy." And then I pull down to look at the comments. LOL!

This shot just oozes comfy. I like the focus on the blanket and his paw. The cat soft inthe background is a very nice touch. SHould have done better with the voters. Good job Deb.

This was particularly low rated and I don't know why. I connected to this even though I wasn't crazy about the color of the blanket. Truly a sweet and unusual image with GREAT DOF.

I love the colors of this and the composition. I scored it a little lower than I would have normally, because I felt the small DOF didn't show me enough texture.

This should have done better, but I guess there's a backlash against cat pictures - there being so many of them.

(p.s. My brother had a dog called Turkey, and likewise it was the name he already had when my brother got him.)

This is such a good Textures entry and such a nice photo in general. The blanket and the cat both have such cool textures and we don't normally think about the contrast, but it's there. You got the comment (in a forum thread, I think) that you can almost feel the cat purring --- I liked that description of this image. The only small thing that I can say might be an improvement is if the light on the cat's arm wasn't so strong. It kind of pulls my eye away from the cool shadows in the rough-looking blanket and the soft cat fur. Really nice job!!

Awww Deb! This is so cute!! I love the texture, but even more, I love the photo! I love how Turkey (doesn't he look a little like Emma????) is all bokeh'd and the blanket is so sharp and. . .well. ..textured looking :)

Fantastic job!!! And I agree with Rae-Ann. . .you got robbed. This deserves to be way up there in the 6's!!!

Great shot and angle. I wish the paw were a little more in focus as that is the center of attention. But you showed just the right amount of his face and the textures of the blanket (and color) also really complements the photo a lot. Nice entry.

This is a really good and dare-ing shot. It is almost too good for tyhe textures challenge. Although I see texture in the blanket and the paw, some will be confused as to what your "subject" was.

Subject out of focus(the cat's head), brilliant idea and execution, works perfectly! The highlights really emphasize the texture. Super cool!

I like the colors, lighting and compostion - I think that if you had the blanket in sharper focus right at the closer end it would have added a little more impact.

I really have to study this. Part of me likes it. Part of me isn't sure. I love the DOF. I love the single claw. I think it might be the color of the blanket/towel. Hmmmm - for now, I'm giving it a high mark. LOL
