This is nice, especially the trace of tree detail. Lovely "landscape without subject". If it were mine, I'd do some work on the sky; the color seems too cartoonish, it doesn't marry well with the other, more somber colors. |

So, is this a landscape scene or a wildlife scene? Not that there is anything wrong with a landscape scene containing a wildlife element. But, if that is the goal, then the ducks are a very minor and too far away element. Immediately noticeable is the dark nature of the tree area. Almost like a neutral density artifact, or transition, between the foreground and the sky. Certainly possible a cloud shaded the trees, but in this shot the sky looks pasted in because the trees are so "unnaturally" dark with a lack of detail. Overall a good image, but needs to have a better foreground anchor (like closer ducks) and a better transition between foreground and sky, other than a starkly dark forest. |
