Thanks, Glen;)
I see what you mean about the comment - but it left me seething at the time. So many assummptions and a dig at my morality/integity.

I'm useless with NI - but to be honest, I am in an internet cafe and it looks more overdone than it does on my screen at home! Way more!!

I wouldn't worry about what you are referring to.. go read the comments on 20 - 30 other candid entries, and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's throw away :)

As for the photo, the only thing I don't like is the amount of smoothing. Falsens it up a bit, takes me out of the moment. Lovely candid otherwise.

Just to clarify - these children are not "underpoverished", they are normal healthy children enjoying a day at the beach. I live in Pattaya Thailand, a holiday resort, so this is normal everyday life. I did not go out looking for poverty stricken, undernourished children to create a bad cliched image.
No clothes, does not equal poor - Children not in the USA with no clothes does not equal poor.....Look at the man in his trunks in my portfolio - no clothes - does HE look poor or "underpoversished"?

nice composition, not enough contrast for my tastes

this is a great photobut in my opinion it has way too much Neat Image used. I would rather have seen this with alot more skin textures. B&W tones look great and placement of subjects is good. good luck

I like this shot, although all the clutter in the background is a little distracting.

it's an okay pic, but way too many hot spots.

I don't think this shot captures the moment that you must have witnessed because without the title, I wouldn't have come to the conclusion that one of these children felt threatened or was being threatening. This is candid but for me, it seems to have missed the fleeting moment that would have engaged my attention in an impactful way.

I don't usually like comments or give them, but since candids are near and dear to my heart, I have decided to comment on every photo in this challenge.

Children. Under poverished children in far away lands to us in the USA are so easy to capture in candids and cliche` at this point. Not exactly out of anyone's comfort zone who is there to capture them. Also way too dark and no real emotion or story going on. It's a 4 vote from me, cause the kids are cute. :)

I like this one a lot.. their bodies seem a little over-smoothed, but it's still a great picture. Not sure I get the title though...
