This is the closest I've been to a poppy and it does indeed make for a nice composition. Wonderful color and texture, and tack sharp too. Well done!

Great Macro. Looks like a tart.

great colors and composition

I like the composition. I like soft focus as well.

Unusual colors, nice detail.

good...bright, bold, rich, good depth.

A fairly sharp and well defined macro. A bit too much free space. a tighter crop would have worked more effectively IMO.

very interesting. Mother nature always was a fan of abstracts :) Except for that small, minute slice of green in upper left I'd say it's perfect :) great job. 10 cthenk

This is very well done. It has all of the right elements, vivid color, exceptional composition, the right amount of contrast, and even an abstract element.

looks larger than true life 6

VERY nice; contrasts of color, texture and shape; translucent and transparent areas in the petals; nice detail in the flower center; even the tiny bit of green in the upper left works.

really, this looks strange

nice shot! The composition here is excellent... The lighting is a little bright to suit my tastes.. I have photographed flowers in the past and found that an overcast day or some amount of shade on teh flower helps the 'punch' quite a bit :) = 7 - jmsetzler

Nice texture and color. I think you could have cropped that small amount of green space at the top left though.

too much orange
07/16/2002 11:53:00 AM
Just a bit over exposed--tweaking the contrast and light/dark would have helped.

WOW ! This is amazing. I have so many questions ! What kind of flower is this? How did you get that background ? The colors and beauty leave me in awe. = 10

The flash at such close range really has overexposed most of this image. It's almost too bright to look at.

Nice shot of the flower... You might want to try cropping just a bit more, mostly so you get rid of the green bit in the upper left. Softer lighting might look better as well.

Great use of color and composition. Top 5.

Stunning macro! Closest thing to a complaint would be the light flares next the the shadows and the tiny touch of green, upper left corner. 9 Swash

Brilliant colours and clarity
07/15/2002 12:57:00 PM
Your colors are interesting. At first I thought the center part of the flower was over sharpened, but the more I look at it the better I like it.
07/15/2002 07:50:00 AM
Nice light and shadows and textures.
07/15/2002 05:02:00 AM
I see this is taken on a sunny day. Maybe too sunny, somewhat over exposed and washes out the colors. Kee
