focus is way off. the subject looks like it could have some potential, and the lighting looks like it could be interesting, but not the way you have it here. what could be done to make this better? well, it depends on what you're trying to do--improve your photography, or improve your dpc scores? if you want to improve your photography, well, keep working at it. if you want to show motion, you have to have absolute razor sharp focus with good panning. if you want to freeze action, you'll have to bump up your shutter speed to at least 1/250 (as well as have good focus). compositionally, this is ok, but it would be stronger with the subject's face, rather than their backside.

on the other hand, if you're looking to improve your scores, you might want to read this thread.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

This is ok as a candid, but just a bit boring for me. Also there is little in focus here. Usually I like these tones, but in this shot, I think I would have preferred the colored version.

Blurry/OOF. Really bad compression jaggies/ Too centered top to bottom. Intersting photo.

This wouldn't be a bad photo except that the image quality has suffered quite a bit. It seems totally unnecessary, too, since b/w generally takes up less KB than color, so there should have been no reason not to upload it at full size.
