yeah, maybe, if it were a bit sharper. as is, it seems a bit out of place in this challenge.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

Unfortunately, candids of animals are really not what I look for in a good candid. Animals are aware and both unaware at the same time of a photographer, nor do they care either way. Too easy, no comfort zone lost. It's a 1 for me on the use of an animal and lack of technicals. It's out of focus where focus needed to be and in focus where it wasn't needed.

Nice shot. It´s a pitty the focus is not on the owl´s eyes...

Colors are good. This must be a young owl? Not sure it fits too well with the challenge but an interesting take none the less.

I feel like the owl should have been captured doing something more unexpected or more expressive to be considered candid. To me this is a nature photo. In terms of image quality, I find it a bit overexposed and not quite sharp enough in the crucial area of its eyes. The eyes are what should grab me about this image but in this the glint just isn't there.

Sorry, don't see the connection to the challenge. ??? As for the photo, it's exciting to have an opportunity to get this kind of image. Looks like your camera was having a hard time getting focus past the branches as the branches are detailed but the owl is a little OOF. Key is getting the face and eyes sharp. Subject is also a bit centered. Good luck.

Definitely something of an achievement to get the shot at all, although it seems the focus is stronger on the foreground sticks than the bird's head; a classic case of having a very dificult photograph to get and hoping that people will not pay too much attention to the challenge details?

although a well composed photo of a photogenic subject, does not meet the spirit of the challenge for me.
