This is not a DPC freindly kind of photo and I don't expect it will do too well, but I like the style, the composition, the concentration on the Turkish guys faces and the motion blur is so fitting. I had to go to a sleezy Turkish bar in Munich to get this shot but it wasn't too bad.

THis a damn cool shot. It's such a classic looking shot with a classic title. It should have placed waaayy higher.

Sleezy... ah! And you think your german bars are better! (This would sound so cool with a heavy russian accent :P)

On another note, I love the pic. Very nice B&W

There is an area in Munich called "Little Istanbul". There is also a little red light district in that area and some of the pubs are not really places that I would like to take my mum too :) This was one of them, it just happened to be Turkish, I think next door there was a Bulgarian one or something. After taking photos I bought all these guys at the table a round of beer, and got talking to them a while. Very friendly people you Turks. But the bar was still sleezy :)

Why oh why did this rank so low in a CANDID challenge. You're right--it's not DPC material but this is a candid challenge, right? Loved the content, loved the motion blur, especially loved the expression and overall look of the guy with the cigarette. It got an 8 from me. Now I wish I scored it higher.

Fantastic shot and I voted it high without knowing it was you. Good for you.

I really like this, but lately, what I enter and like isn't doing so well. The movement is great. Has a photojournalism quality. Too bad others don't get it, huh?

You were "forced" to go to a bar eh? :-) Sad to see this so low but glad you entered it.

Since you did know it wouldn't do well on DPC, I think you have a very clear and good understanding of how things work around here.
I thought it was one of the best in the challenge, and on it's own a fine image. Well done.

Extremely well done! Perfect timing and composition. Like the "old and grainy" look.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

This is ok, but would be a whole lot better had more been in focus. I understand the motion blur on the arm, but nothing else is really in focus much herr. It takes away from the shot and the story it tells in a sense. However, I do like the tones and it does have a bit of interest. I give it a 4.

Great sense of movement. Looks like an old photo from the 30's. The guy with the cigarette makes the shot for me. 7

Really like this; excellent sense of dynamic and location. Title brings to mind a couple of well remembered books.
