For a candid shot to be successful for me, it should capture either the unexpected or strong emotion, frequently both. For example, unintentional juxtapositions potentially make great candids, be they humorous, or simply thought provoking. Capturing the subject doing something out of character is another example of potential candid material. The other type is a bit easier to find. Those would be the shots that successfully capture strong emotion, be it glee, fury, frustration, pride, etc. This doesn't really capture any of those qualities. It would help if we could see the man's expression. The woman doesn't really provide enough information with her expression to provoke an emotional response in me. |
