Hello from the Critique Club
Let me start out by saying I gave this photo a seven. It is a very alluring pose that is seductive but not overly so. The model's expression is perfect, she draws your eyes in and holds them and that gives this shot a lot of impact.
The main thing that bothers me about this shot is the camera position. At this angle, it appears that her feet would be elevated above her head. This gives it a subtle feeling of tension that seems out of place. I tinkered around in Photoshop and rotated the image 25 degrees CCW. This put her in a position where her feet would be in a slightly lower than her head and gave it a much more relaxed feel.
I might also crop out the bottom of the bed. What appears to be a metal frame detracts from the feeling of softness in the rest of the composition.
Your comment made me think you might not be satisfied with the work you did on her eyes. I think you did really well with this. Her eyes really stand out, but you didn't take it too far.

| I like the pose. The colors and contrasts are great. What I find a little off is the perspective. There is a lot of shape/contour/depth to most of the shot. But the angle of her face to the camera seems a little off. It is the only part of the pic that looks flat and not as detailed and strong as the rest of the shot. For example, her left cheek looks totally flat and somewhat sunken. |

| good control on exposure here. i like the pose by the model, and your choice of angle for this shot. awkward, but the great DOF used for this photo is another smart choice. I'm bumping this one up. |

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more seductive photos. This is very nice. I like the classic red velvet chair matching her lips. I like the overall treatment you've done with this.
On the negative, the hair could use some more definition/highlights. That dark patch is a bit distracting. Maybe have a dedicated light to bring shine to that part of the hair? Also, her outfit looks very wrinkled. Not sure if that is just the look of the garment or not. Regardless if it was smooth I think it woudl have really enhance the shot even further, IMO.
Just my thoughts. Hope you do well and I look forward to seeing more of your work! |
