I gotta tell you, I really love this on several levels. The stark simplicity speaks volumes. The increasing numbers, going "into oblivion" are not only symbolic, but add some shape to the overall image. The cool blues and greens compliment each other well. The angle of the bulk heads vanishing away from the forefront not only create a great leading line, but their shapes are like steps, giving us numbered spots to rest our eyes. Superb.
Why it ranked so low in the ratings is beyond me... |

There is nothing wrong with MSG; and it's certainly a more interesting molecule than it's given credit for; one would think it was a close relative of DDT from the world's reaction.
Didn't see this amongst the few I commented on, and I'm sorry I missed it. I possibly like the B&W approach of the other shot more, but this one makes more use of those tremendous natural tones. Evidently, in terms of the challenge, you were required to be unrepentantly violent in your post processing in order to score well. Still, thanks for putting it in ;-) |

9. Would have liked a bit more sharpness/still of the waves and more pastel colors...
I am a greenhorn. My opinion barely must be taken into account. I even invented my own voting system which everybody is free to criticize:
10- exceptional good. Real art.
9- better than commercial print. Between art and comercial print
8- could be a good commercial print
7- fair commercial print
6- ordinary snapshot, good technic
5- ordinary snapshot
4- ordinary snapshot, poor technic
3- no subject but good technic (colors, focus)
2- no subject, fair technic
1- no subject, no technic, no meaning |

Beautiful wide angle - love those leading 1,2,3 lines! I'm not sure how I feel about the vignetting in the sky. It's a nice framing effect, but maybe a bit too much in the upper right? Not sure. I'm crazy about the lower left, with those greens though! |

I like the subject: it makes me wonder what happened there.
Love the lightening, with the darker right corner on the sky. (neutral density filter?) |

I want to stick my feet in! Looks a bit hot in the lower right corner but the rest of the colors are lovely and I like the composition. |
