You all were absolutely right! I made a mistake. I made this photo for the "Something Old" challenge, but i pushed the wrong button and the photo got here. I am sorry about that. And thank you for your comments :)

love the photo. Wish the focus was a bit some where else, sharper? Whats new?
04/25/2006 08:47:55 AM
Interesting shot. Don't get the connection with the challenge.

Is your grandmas hands new?
04/25/2006 06:54:29 AM
New? Or did you put it in the wrong challenge by mistake and this should be in old?
04/23/2006 08:29:00 PM
They are new?
04/23/2006 06:28:56 PM
I think this would fit Something Old better. I would like this better with sharper focus and less yellow.

I want very badly to like this photograph. I think grandma or you moved between the time you focused and the time the photo was actually made, which is a pity. It looks like the texture of her sleeve is sharp and the hands are. . . a little softer focused. Please shoot it again, the composition & topic are lovely.

Was this meant for something Old category?
04/22/2006 10:23:14 PM
The shot is well-composed but terribly focused; further, it has absolutely nothing to do with "something new." Did you mean to submit this to the other, "something old," challenge?
04/22/2006 11:06:50 AM
um, wrong challenge?
04/21/2006 07:51:43 AM
I guess you realise that this is in the wrong challenge. As old hands go, these are out of focus, had they been in focus this would have a chance.
04/21/2006 05:51:35 AM
Out of focus. Wrong challenge?
04/21/2006 04:51:48 AM
Out of focus 2
04/21/2006 12:24:11 AM
I would prefer to see something in precise focus. It gives the eye a place to rest and draws attention to the subject. Also not sure this meets the challenge.
04/20/2006 07:18:03 PM
Sorry, your image is not in focus.
04/20/2006 06:25:42 PM
Not in focus and I think you wanted this in something old.
04/20/2006 05:42:38 PM
I think you meant this for the Something Old catagory
04/20/2006 12:16:09 PM
Is this supposed to be in Something Old? It's an interesting picture but I don't see how it fits the challenge.
04/20/2006 09:49:50 AM
all blurry...sorry
04/20/2006 08:38:25 AM
I would think this belongs in something old.
04/20/2006 07:44:41 AM
Good idea, might have fit the old challenge better in most of the voters' minds. DOF is a little off.
04/20/2006 01:13:02 AM
Great idea. I wish the focus were sharper.
04/19/2006 09:26:51 PM
The only thing in focus is the sleeve of her shirt. It is a nice composition and good color but focus really hurts.
04/19/2006 09:25:37 PM
Wrong challenge, and focus is off.
04/19/2006 08:18:21 PM
Other than being in the wrong challenge, the yellows are too strong and it would be nice if the focus were on the hands rather than her cuff. Nice idea and setup, though.
04/19/2006 03:50:54 PM
subject should be something new.
04/19/2006 09:51:51 AM
Did you enter the right challenge? Shouldn't grandmother's hands be in 'something old'?
04/19/2006 05:01:29 AM
this seems like something for the something old challenge but a powerful photo
04/19/2006 12:48:05 AM
too OOF and not sure how it would fit in as Something New.
