People who see phalic here are seriously skewed - maybe it's the first time she's seen a banana?
This is a nice shot - I hate that the fact that when people think you didn't meet the challenge it relegates you to the last page. This shot has nice lighting, great focus - I like it.
Technically a very nice photo, I would have given you the benefit of the doubt on subject - I think you would have ended up 7-8 in my voting, FWIW. :)

| With the photo in black and white you cannot see that the banana is not fresh anymore. |

| Bleah...it still looks pretty fresh so I don't get the choice of subject. The detail is washed out quite a bit. Did you mean for it to look so phallic? There just isn't anything of interest for me in this tight vertical crop. The other bananas just create more visual clutter in the background making this look even more cramped. |

| Really need to sharpen focus. Composition is done well, however, and I like the black and white treatment. |

| Not sure this fits the challenge, looks like a perfectly good banana, not old at all. Perhaps if you had taken a colour photograph of the yellow skin with brown spots, then we would think it was old. |

| Still looks pretty fresh to me, especially if you give it a good crop at the bottom :-) This image doesn't hold my interest in anyway, I'm afraid to say. |

| Nothing seems, to me, to be in focus. Background distracts. Composition is ok. |
