i did got some comments saying the lighting was a bit funny, this could be because there is no roof on the building and there was quite bright sunlight hitting the wall? |

"Hardwick Old Hall, Derbyshire" is a nice addition into the Window Framed challenge. I have to say congratulations on a new personal best, that is always a wonderful thing to see after the challenge ends.
The photograph itself is very interesting and did grab my attention. I think the image grabbed more of my attention because you left more of the surrounding frame in the shot unlike many of the other entries. I love the rustic appeal with the broken covering on the right-hand side. The composition is very nice. The subject framed looks so prefect it almost looks unreal. Like Konador said there is some halo on the blue in the frame that is showing up, but for me it was pretty minimal. Overall great work! |

Nice but the view through the window looks odd, like you processed it diffrently than the wall, the lighting doesn´t seem right somehow. |

I think the radius you used (in USM) was too high, since I can see haloing around the window frames. If you don't understand USM I have a free tutorial video available about it at my website which could help. |

Beautiful old window which is framing a even more beautiful piece of country side. Well done and good luck here! 9 |

I'm guessing you used "Shadow/Highlight" on this one. Nice composition. You might try adding more mid-tone contrast to take a little of the "flatness" out of the image. |

A unique window with a nice view. It would look better without the rail accross the bottom, but i'm sure your couldnt help that unless you wanted to remodel the building!! 8 |

I like the idea, but I wish the picture was positioned better and the view was clearer. |

It's a window and it's framing a view and that's about all I see here. It's a lovely view, very beautiful country and the use of the old style window is very nice but it's really bland overall. No depth, no contrast, no life in the shot. Perhaps a curves adjustment, maybe a little dodging or burning to add more to the shot itself? The light is a bit harsh also, a levels adjustment to possibly soften that up a bit? I think this shot has great potential with a little bit more editing and maybe even a little more cropping, take some off the left and bring it more to a rule of thirds instead of so centered. A 6 |
