Sometimes a photo sums up a feeling far better than words could. So what do I say, nice dedication (which it is)? If only I had a photo to show what I cannot put in words...

Jesus! April 12 is my birthday. I am so very sorry for your loss, Robert. My Dad is gone, too ..but like yours, not forgotten.
Now that I understand the true meaning of your image, I could readily add to my list of reasons I liked it (but I won't). And, as you see below, I did like it very much. Nearly as much as this, which I truly loved:
Best wishes.

Nice idea and I like the colors in the back but without clarity, it pretty much doesn´t do much for me. Would have liked the focus to be exactly opposite, on the outside and not the window but preferrably both. |

hmmm, this had potential, all good images need a interest point and i cant find one here, also the two bars framing the window are distracting |

I like you use of the rain on the window for this shot. Well done. |

Not very inspiring. The focus appears to be on the window itself instead of the landscape. It doesn'work. |

Not quite abstract enough for this to be an interesting abstract. Needs more compositional interest, but I do like some of the textures and colours. |

Too funny. I think the muddy window is great and the scenery, what I can see of it, is beautiful. |

neat idea, but it's kind of lacking composition and an interesting subject. |

Ok something else than all the others, though not sure how I like it, would maybe want to see the whole frame in the photo. |

Interesting as an abstract. I think slightly brighter colors might have worked a little better for me, but overall an interesting photo. |

This is a whole lot more interesting than it first appears to be. I'll bet I could list 10 things that I like about it:
1. The dark "bands" formed top and bottom by the car structure recall a wide-screen movie format; it looks like something we recognise, but it's really something else. 2. Rearward-looking viewpoint is slightly disorienting; the more comfortable, conventional tendency is of course to look ahead. 3. The horizontal demister lines suggest a video broadcast affected by interference; another sly reference to imperfect communication. 4. The area swept by the wiper perfectly frames the scene outside; just clipping the vegetation at the bottom, just clearing the treeline at the top, and neatly enclosing the essentials (the stuff "cropped out" by the wiper is irrelevant anyway). 5. The degree of blur applied by the rain is just enough to ask the viewer some questions, but not enough to provide all the answers. 6. The composition, for all its apparent extemporisation, is actually very finely judged; thirds, lines, tones, all that stuff. 7. It does not use Neat Image. 8. It rewards a second look. 9. And even a third. 10. Damn ... oh well, nearly made it.
See? And you thought all you did was to lean around and snap a quick shot! I'll score it 8. |

I bet you have some DNMC comments because it's no building, but what the heck, I like the colors and the dirty window. nice shot. |

not very interesting. it might actually be more interesting if it was less in focus and more impressionistic |

Kind of hard to see out of the window, although that may be the effect you were going for. But I still want to see what's out there! |

First look, I didn't really like this, but it's sort of growing on me. It has a very soft "water color" feel to it. |

I don't know why, but I think this is really cool. Perhaps it's because I get the feeling that you decided not to let bad weather deter you. Well done. |
