Amid this large complex challenge, so difficult to view and score,
where the opportunity for a necessity to accomodate to an unexpected reality and adjust the way one usually sees is required - This beautiful reversal of a common and simple doe stands out. I had no problem scoring this a nine. |

This is a comment from the Critique Club;
I agree with the commenters - you were robbed with this one. Great image, nice composition, Nice Contrast and good background.
Only thing I see that seems a bit off is the focus on the dear (ears specifically) Seems like the focus is strong on the background (which works well I might add), but not enough on the dear.
Other than that - 4.7 way too low for this image - At least a 5.7 or higher.
ps - maybe the dear was saw a Pug? |

Man, I think I would drop dead where I stood if I saw this creature in the woods. |

What a pity. I gave it a 10. Looks like prymitive Haitian painting. And I didn't even believe it was a living creature. Good luck next time. |

I think this shot was underrated. The background looks like beautiful wallpaper and the green hue of the deer contrasts very nicely with it. I gave it a 7. |

I can't believe this low score on this startling and peculiar image. The interplay between the deer and the ghostly background is very strong, and the deadpan composion of it is "frozen" just as the deer is. Pug wuz robbed! |

Funny choice of subject. :) The pine branches in the background work really well. As an art piece outside of the challenge, you might want to try just inverting the background and leaving the deer as a positive image. (using a layer mask or something.) It might look neat. |

Somehow, I feel this image should be a painting hanging on a wall in the video game, "Resident Evil." Great, great shot. |

Gives new meaning to "deer in the headlights." Not that interesting, but what I do like is the way the pine needles show up red. |

I know it's a photo, but this looks really artsy as an image. Love it. |
