My beautiful other half had the idea for this one. Although I didn't get to incorporate all three of the primary colors, I felt this was enough color for what my body could handle. We didn't have enough time to wait the 2 weeks for the body paint, so we ended up using Crimson Red acrylic paint. I just so happen to have a bright blue wall in my kitchen. We spent about a half hour spreading the red paint over every square inch of my body from the waist up. This causes the body to heat up rapidly since all the pours in my body from the waist up are now clogged, so the shoot didn't last all that long. However, we felt like we got the results we wanted.
This shot was taken by my beautiful Mel with my Canon 10D with the Canon 28-135 IS USM lens.

Since this is my first submission, feel free to list any comments and any critiquing would be helpful!

Nice work. Your effort paid off nicely.

I think this photo is, well,......edgy. The red really pops out, and the expression is perfect. So, good so far.
However, blue and red aren't (technically) complementary colors, and the spots of skintone on the hands take away from it. But still a great photo!

Edgy colors, yes - complementary colors, no. DNMC!

nice concept!

Too much red, I think. The blue needs to be a bit more obvious.

Red and blue aren't complimentary, but nice body painting. :P

I would have liked it more if thee background (gelled ? ) was more saturated ... If it was a gel use a grey background not white

good shot
wonderful idea

This is a good idea but suffered a bit in execution. The colors appear to be blue and red which aren't complementary. There also doesn't appear to be anything in focus.

2 - Looks more red than orange to me, but may have been so in person, who knows. Adjusting the hue likely have helped this. Concept, not holding my attention. Focus is also off, but might be intentional.

where's the green?
04/26/2006 06:38:30 AM
you obviously went to a lot of trouble...to me, it lacks a sharp focus...if the hands were sharp, this would be good...also your blue is really incidental and washed out...sorry
