This is derelict but not quite desolation for me. A great shot with gorgeous tones and rich textures. I would have cropped out the very top roof line - leaving the shadow of it. A reluctant [8] |

The dark sepia really ages the image - it is almost like a step back into the depression. There are a lot of textures here, which helps lead the eye around the photograph - there seems to be something to look at in every section. The tonal range is excellent, there is nothing too dark or too bright. A wonderful capture of desolation, as oxymoronic as that sounds. |

You have done a good job here. I like the feeling you create it. Monochrome is the excellent choice. |

Actually is a nice picture, but it evokes (for me) more a feeling of "past" than "desolation" |

I love the part of the image to the right of the wooden pole most, and would prefer it cropped to exclude the area to the far left. I love the tatty windows and hanging wiring and the texture of the bricks. Good choice on B/W too.

this is jampacked with textures and lines and shapes - do you think you might have wanted to center on one? |

I like how the lighting captures the character of the building, particularly the bricks. I also think the tree branches and pole in the front adds depth to the shot that would otherwise have been lost without it. Nicely done. |

Reminds me so much of the abandoned warehouses of the Northeast, especially the little towns that seem to have been sapped of young blood. What sadness. |

I find the wooden pole a bit distracting. |
