Challenge: Inside Looking Out (Classic Editing)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Olympus D-490Z
Location: Oakland, Caifornia, USA
Date: Aug 9, 2003
Aperture: 3.9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/10
Galleries: Humorous, Macro
Date Uploaded: Aug 9, 2003

A shot of the guts of a cheapo film camera, framed and focused so as to seem to be taken from the position of the film as it would "look out" through the shutter.

Even with the maximum exposure compensation (-2.0 eV) setting on my camera, the longest exposure I could get was 1/10th second, so I was never able to trigger the film camera's shutter accurately enough to catch it open.

Cropped, convered to grayscale and back to RGB to reduce the grainy noise, a little USM.

Maybe because it's film, but I don't even know what the heck I'm looking at, let alone whether it's inside looking out. I'm just going to vote on the quality of the picture and let you decide with your other comments what is going on in this shot.

Good idea, but the picture is a little too dull, maybe a diffused flash would have been good here.

It doesnt work for me persoanlly. I do not find the subject interesting. There is a dark line on the left which stands out and throws off the composition, making it look uneven on both sides. However, I like the idea of within a camera. Well done, Good try =)

Meets the challenge ok but not the most interesting shot.

clever idea but the overall iamge is flat - it needs an intensity of light to bring out the planes of the title
