Hey there from the Critique Club

First off, always try to include some info about the shot in the Photographer's Comments section. It really helps out, especially when you request a critique. You chose a great cliche here, and one that is out of the ordinary. As mentioned in earlier comments, the flash was much too harsh and really overexposed those oranges. You chose a nice composition and the layered oranges sever well to draw the viewer deeper and deeper into the frame. Toning that flash down a bit would have gotten this one a full point or more. I Would make suggestions on how, but I am not at all familiar with Canon equipment.

The oranges are too bright, there should be a way to decrease the exposure on the camera so that more texture is visible

I think it has too much of a glare.

The coloring is too yellow in the whole photograph and the center orange is lacking all its shade and definition so it looks like just a big yellow circle.

This shot is a good idea, but it just seems a little bright.

never heard this saying.
on a different note the photo on its own doesnt really appeal to me. tsetup, lighting... something bothers me, a je ne sais quoi i guess.

overexposed but intreguing

I like the idea here, but you have some seriously blown colors here and a bit over-saturated. I'm not sure if it's an exposure issue or something that happened in post.

the colors look somewhat unnatural to me.
05/04/2006 01:38:36 PM
Way over saturated - imho.

Color cast or overexposure really hursts this image. Nothing particularly compelling about the composition either.

Those front oranges are so bright they hurt the eye.

Looks over-processed.

looks overexposed to me. nice idea.

The oranges are blown out and look really weird, radioactive in a way, and I don't think that was your intention.
05/03/2006 12:11:31 PM
