This is my first ever submission to my favorite site on the web. Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel on my kitchen table. Used curves in Photoshop, cropped, fiddled with brightness/contrast and ran Neatimage.

I think 1/2 or 3/4 of a stop darker would work wonders for this shot.

For me, taking a picture of fire is very challenging, especially to get it crisp. In this case, the 'capture' seems pretty solid, but the flame is a little blown and soft. Still, good capture!

Fire is very difficult to capture well. I know, I've tried many times. You have a bit of blow-out above the match, which takes away from an otherwise very good image. The only way I've found to have this type of shot work is to use another medium power light source, from a complementry angle, which will reduce the impact of the fire on the exposure, and then play with sat and contrast in post-processing. Good Luck. A 6 from me.
