probably has some publishing potential, but would have preferred to see it in color (at least around here, only a few papers run bw on their covers, if all...).

I like the subject in the foreground but I think the background could be brighter to give more reference to the subject.

I get the emphasis on the veteran but it looks like he's a bit overlit. Fill flash might have worked better here. 5

Lovely photo ... I know you captured the statues behind .. but they don't need to be there ... this is a lovely pic of the guy without them .. still is great. Let us not forget.
