This is a great shot Marc. I think it's just way to expansive though. The placement of the tree is spot on and the curve of the hills is right on the ROTs. I think what hurt this a bit is the fact that there is hardly any definition in the tree since it's too small. The minimalist approach works well for me. However, seeing I am looking at this in front of a bright monitor and I can sense that the foreground is dark, leads me to believe that most will perceived a dark foreground :( Great eye though ;)

I love the lonely little tree and this print will only get better the bigger you print it.

Good simplicity. Some dodging and burning of the colouds would help.

Wonderful tonal range and composition. I suspect that this would look even better as a print than it does on screen.

The foreground seems very dark and for this photograph to work in B&W it needs more work on it IMO. I do like the angle and the composition is good.

i've seen this shot done many times before, but its still a good composition! The sillouette is nice and strong, but the detail is lost a bit in the shadows on my screen.

Love the one tree alone shoot. Clouds are dramatic and B&W add's as well. Good luck -8-

Lacks some punch. Perhaps a closer viewpoint would have given more for the eyes to grab on.

If the clouds had been more angry this would have done much better...but you can't control the weather so I will give you a 7 for a great image on your part.

Succeeds in conveying melancholy and isolation. A little too dark overall for my preferences, even with expanse of sky but perhaps that supports the theme.

I like the simplicity of your composition here.
