::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
Very clever ... and yes i can see that picture used in the lifestyle and commentary sections of our papers here.
Composition:
plays nice on thirds and uses the leading lines to draw the eye into the picture.
Subject:
meets the challenge ... although I don't think I would like to smell of the cash after :)
Technical (Colour and light):
Natuaral light ... well shot and good DOF to blur the floor.
To grow its vote?:
This is your highest scoring to date and you are learning heaps .. keep taking things on board and thinking outside the square.
Summary:
Great shot .. well done.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
Cheers

Nothing really jumps out at me with this photo. The only thing I can think to share with you is this: When I think of photojournalism I think of someone behind the camera snapping away as the action unfolds before them. Although staged well, this pic IS staged. Not my Idea of photojournalism. Just my 2 cents.
In this challenge I am only commenting.
All comments are meant to be constructave. Please take them as such. Good luck in this challenge! |

I like the thought behind this one, perhaps even lighting them on fire would've been cooler! (though I wouldn't expect you to waste your $ and risk an explosion!!!)
It could be a little stronger w/ better focus on the bills and less focus on the writing of the gas cap. |

this would probably make a well-selling stock shot. |

Great set-up, one of my favourites in the challenge (was this taken in Canada? I see French writing on the inside of the gas cover, yet you used American money). |

Especially if you need premium fuel...
Just a little bit out of focus. |

Nice idea, but too snapshot-y. This would be great in a studio environment with professional lighting and a super-crisp focus throughout. |

Hmmmm... Opinion page yes, maybe. Definitely a news story that's on the mind of a lot of people. It's a little contrived for my taste, though. |
