Congrats, Sonja, on a top ten finish! I took my three boys to the park yesterday to do a similar shot, only to find out they have removed this piece of equipment! Now I have to drive around town and find one of these! I love your shot and I hope you don't mind my copying it with my kids! I'll show you what I come up with! take care,

This is a really nice shot.. I love the geometry of it. For me, shapes and contrast are both important elements of a photograph, especially a black and white.. great work :) = 10 |

this is great. i love the symmetry, composition, and the angle of the boy--the B&W is a perfect choice for this shot. i also really like the starkness of the sky, contrasts nicely with the subject. great work. |

Pretty cool, and great attention to the cropping... but it doesn't fit the challenge to well. Otherwise it's a very good shot. |

Great design in this shot and good composition. Not much more to say really - it's just good, ribbon-worthy stuff! |

You captured a great expression on his face. The angles of his body and the angles of the contraption he's climbing on complement each other. |

I love this shot! This makes mw want to take my three boys down to the playground right now and copy your creativity!! Your composition is excellent. I'm assuming this is pretty well backlit and you used flash for frontal details?? Is he holding his breath?? Thaks for the great idea and I hope I am able to get a shot as good as yours! I give it a 10! Good Luck!

I love the visuals of this... great lines. And the boy seems as though he\\\'s concentrating hard. Great lighting. |

Simple and effective. The symmetry is very nicely done and the location of the boy makes a nice shot. 9 -danny |

Very striking image and wonderful composition. My single negative would just be lighting - I find his face too much in shadow and the highlight on his body a touch harsh. Still a very strong image and a very unusual one. |

At first I had to look a little longer to figure out what this was. It is difficult to tell whether the boy is climbing up the side or is on top of that structure, that is what makes this so interesting. The sepia toning really boosts this photo, better than the color version in my opinion. (I wouldn't mind seeing how this was in color actually). |

Awesome shot! Awesome for the challenge too. Hope this gets a ribbon. This would look really great in color (or colored in PS if it was washed out to begin with). I can imagine it very vibrant with a perfectly blue sky and red and yellow bars and stuff. This rocks. |

I'm looking at a winner! Great job. I love how the climber fills the shot, nice reflections on the boys skin. |
