 I discovered the dpchallenge site a few weeks ago and love it! This is my first contest entry. I have to admit, I've been a bit intimidated by all of the fabulous photos that I have seen on this site. However, I figured if I am going to be judging other peoples work, then I need to put my photos up for critiquing as well.

This old truck has been sitting in a wheat field for years. I originally planned on submitting a closely cropped photo of the truck. I then reviewed all of my photos taken and felt that this one in a horizontal format fit the category better. I shot this in the B&W setting and added color saturation in Photoshop.

This is wonderful, great warmth and color. The only thing i would suggest is a slightly different angle to iliminate the white building on the left. 9

Just a nagging thought. If someone was retired, wouldnt the tractor be kept in a garage or something? That though is just nagging at me.

However, Interesting subject but I would have liked to see less of the vehicle and more of the wonderful surroundings as I dont feel that the truck deserves so attention.

However, well done. Good try. =)

The color on this one is a bit red for my tastes. I think it might have worked a little better closer to a true black and white. Subject conveys the challenge well. 7
