 Used desk lamp illumination from left with daylight color balance to light photo and give a daylight feel, with umbrella fill from behind camera.

Captures the morning and definitely meets the challenge. Bumping up the contrast and cutting the yellow cast a bit would, imo, give a more vibrant and cheery feel.

waaaaaaaaaaake up and smell the low-lighting (j/k) it does need some adjustment in the levels or lighthing to cut the yellow cast.

The lighting is a little too yellow. I don't know how your camera works, but mine has a white balance setting for incandescent lighting that takes care of this problem.
