I'm really hoping this does OK. I'm starting to lose faith in my abilities to gauge the DPC audience. :) I think this might be a little off the wall but I like it. Again, that's usually the kiss of death for me. Hopefully it will at least be enough to be pass Sir Bazz. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she? :-D

Post challenge:
Well, I was kind of hoping for a little better of a score but I guess "almost a six" is alright. No way I could've beaten Sir Bazz's 5th place finish. Congrats!! :-)

Now, for the eye and "why a 1 sec. exposure" you may be thinking? Originally I was going for an open/closed eye, you know, with the eyeball showing through a closed lid. But once I started processing it I kind of lost that effect and ended up with a ghostly looking eye but also a softer focus than I would usually go for.

Anyhoo, that's the story. Thanks for all the great and helpful comments (and the favorite too).

I'm really befuddled. This is excellent. DOn't get it. Should've been top 20 at least. I gave it a 10.

One of a very few that I can envision as a true poster. Great job and very nice editing.

Is this Jen? Eerie and spooky image and the midnight glow works well here ;) I wish your eyes were sharper though. (8)

I really like the artisticness of this one. You really draw attention straight to the eye. The shadow/highlight interplay is supercool. Great photo!

I only wish that Hollywood were capable of this sort of philosophizing and subtlety. It must be a French movie from the seventies. I love how the image seems to be on the edge between death and consciousness, a visual meditation that matches (or tries to contradict) your title. I hope you make this movie. I would definitely go see it (even if you're not French. especially if you're not French!).

Hey this looks like Jenesis ;) I like it, but it's a bit too much out of focus or blurry to me.

the photo really works with the title for me. the photo has some technical problems but I think most of them are on purpose and those things work for the emotion. I would like to see you finish the poster.

Excellent. The title works with the image and does look like a movie poster to me. I can envision it on a big easel in the lobby! It has an air of mystery and the softness denotes something "out of this world." Good one.

what I am looking for in this challenge is for a creative 'wow' shot that would go on a movie poster. I think that's what the challenge is all about...This shot has a movie poster look and a great title, well done 8
