I guess it's just that, looking at the image, that story you have just shared just isn't visible. I agree that there is sadness knowing that fact! |

I realise that the landscape itself does not portray desolation. But a beautiful field was just about to be turned into a building site - it is the cows who are feeling desolated. Too subtle maybe :) |

A great image which is strengthened by the inclusion of the two cows. That said, the scene seems to convey bucolic peace and rural life and doesn't feel remotely desolate to me. However, desolate is such a wide subject and we all have such different interpretations of it so don't take my comments as an indication that I'm lowering my vote for "challenge not met" type reasons.

I'm not really sure how this one ties into the challenge. The black border is way too much for this shot. Probably altogether unnecessary to be perfectly honest. |

I don't really get a sense of desolation from this shot. I mostly get "a day on the farm" |
