So, after two years of being a user on this site, only voting at some challenges once in a while and browsing around... I finally took part in a challenge! Why? Because I just got a digital camera for the first time about a month ago. (Maybe I should have gotten one while I still lived in Iceland, seems like taking pictures there is the way to go...)
I don't know anything at all about photography really. I don't know what words like contrast and saturation mean, have no idea what impact it will have on a shot to change the ISO number, no clue how to edit a pic other then crop and resize and so on... But! I'm here to learn that. I'll have to do some reading and experimenting but hopefully I'll learn something before I give up on this hobby :P
I knew this was not really a good picture when I entered it but I wanted just to try to take part in a challenge, didn't really care much about the outcome :) I expected it to place a little bit higher though, maybe around 150th place? :P

Anyways, thanks a lot for the comments, I really appreciate them! :)

bfox2: one day I'll be able to fully understand your comment but at the moment I'm too much of a n00b :P Thanks a lot though, I'm sure it will help later on to get such detailed comments!

joycamp: Thank you so much for the comment, it's nice to know that my photo touched someone :) (unless the tears were because my photo was so awful that it was pain to look at it ;P )

There's one thing that seems to me like it really detracts from this picture, and thats the sky, since it's so much brighter than the rest of the picture. If you ever get a chance to go back there under the same lighting condidions, try experimenting with different compositions that exclude the sky. I think if you got closer to the flowers with the treetrunk and the hedge in the background this shot could have a lot more impact. Another thing you might try is upping the contrast and saturation a bit which would help emphasize the cemetary yard.

nice peaceful image. Maybe a little sharper focues on the gravesite? Either that or I don't have my glasses on Ü.

Looks like a lovely place. Your photo is washed out, though.

Tough exposure to get here, but the over-exposed portions detract a bit.
