| Great desolate image here. I would comment on the lower left detail being included - I don't think it adds anything, but it definitely distracts me from the intended focal point which is the house on the "island". |

| You could have cropped out the beach and surf in the foreground but you didn't and I think that was a great decision. It adds something to the shot, so thanks for leaving it in. The photo could be a little bit clearer with slightly more contrast. Nice job. |

Certainly desolate but at the same time not a truly compelling image. But I think it can be very hard to show desolation and at the same time keep the image really interesting. I do like the diagonal at the bottom of the sea shore and would like to see it a little higher in the frame.
I think I'd also prefer the position of the horizon to be a touch higher or lower - it's a little close to middle for my tastes in this shot.
Still a nice image though.

| meets the challenge, not enough detail in the coulds, this may have worked better in color, with the contrasting grey/blue of the water with the angry grey of the clouds. The wave breaking in the foreground is a distraction to me. |
