Cute concept! Focus is a bit soft on the other balls. Shame about the slight undulation in the chequers. Great take on the challenge. [7]

cool pic.

This is an interesting shot and is really pushing to meet the challenge IMO. I wish the marbles were sharper.

oooo... hm , nice idea, 9 cuz i think something could be more creatively done to seperate the pics. but still. very cool.

i like the idea!

The idea is noble, but the execution just wasn't there. I wasn't sure how many setup studio shots would be here. I was guessing few. This is the first one and overall I don't think its terrible, but it does need to be in a little better focus.

Very creative, great contrast.

Cute idea. and I light the shadow of the singled out marble. However, the images are not sharp enough for my liking. Also, I would have liked to see the corners of the black squares to meet in the perfect "check-board" fashion, as at the moment, the boxes are too uniform horizontally to make the "floating boxes" effective. However, well done. Good try =)

nice graphic feel. could use more focus.

"now i know you may have made mistakes, but there's forgiveness and a second chance. so wait for me, darling..." and at the end of Wait could be Yes.

the black really, really hurts this picture, even though it provides an arbitrary sense of distance. the negative space of the surface and the shadows on it would have made for a much more interesting picture. the composition other than that is spot on, good choices in placement the bowl off the edge, and the single marble is at a good off center point to properly unbalance the two. i won't mark down for the focus, because i suspect this is the camera's doing, not yours. (still, an unsharp mask would have helped a little...)

if it weren't for the blatant symbolism, i'd probably mark this rather poorly, largely due to black. i don't know what this was, but i think (imho) it was a very poor decision, and probably breaking a few rules. either way, you obviously have a good eye and poor equipment. a better camera would suit you.

six.

There are some beautiful colors in the glass balls, but I find my focus being diverted to the black squares. Interesting concept, but it doesn't evoke a lot of emotional response for me.

good idea. The two black areas should meet at a sharp point. Also, the bowl of marbles appears to be slightly out of focus

the marbles arent very sharp. maybe a greater depth of field would be required

Neat idea. The focus and lighting for the bowl in the upper left could be better.

this is fun but doesn't satisfy the hungry eye

is it valid?
