I felt like something a little different and creepy for this challenge. Here we have a full length portrait of a ghoul in his environment. LOL... It looked nice in black and white, but I am a sucker for deep sepia with dark overtones.

I had a lot of fun with this one. I knew of a cemetery with this crypt that I always thought was pretty ornate. The whole cemetery is very ornate. Great old and new grave stones and historic architecture.

We had to ask permission from the grounds men to take this shot, and they called their supervisor by cell phone on premises and we were granted permission. My model then adorned the old torn pants I shredded the bottoms of for him. He then wore a simple white T-Shirt under a $60.00 sports jacket that I took my scissors too. OOOOps! No, really, it didn't fit anymore and he owned two of the same. He will use it again in the future for Halloween or something, I'm sure. I also had an old silk and ugly tie. I put a hole in the front of that too.

Knowing I was going to convert this to sepia or b/w, I wasn't really all that worried about the colors of the clothing. It's a mish-mash of ugliness in real color form. LOL... The pants are cranberry, and the jacket is black, and the tie is a red print. I just basically wanted some shredding and holes so the lighter colors would show through the material for the final outcome, and that was achieved.

He decided to do this night-of-the-living-dead type pose and he distorted his face. LOL..I didn't think I would use it, but it ended up being my favorite. After all, most people do pose for a portrait, so why not :) No makeup needed when in advanced editing you can toy a bit with the colors and shadows already there. After I did all the PP I wanted, I then converted it to sepia and then did a bit more enhancing here and there.

This shot was taken about 2pm in the afternoon. The weather was cloudy and was perfect to give a night-time feel. We just missed the downpour that came shortly afterwards :)

I am pretty sure this concept will be duplicated, but hopefully I did a good job on this rendition for you :) This is my personal favorite of all of my submission entries to date at DPC (well, there may be one other..LOL). I think it is quite a creative entry, and hopefully one others will feel is worthy of a decent vote.

As usual, my best to the winners.

Rose

Sorry, the dodge/burning too much for my taste but the rest I like so I still gave it a 6.

Very creative not to mention ghoulish shot. The sepia tone really adds to this image.

Slightly mad, slightly funny. The nearly insane processing, especially in the broad brush-strokes with which it is applied, suit the image; but it seems flattened by all that reduction of overall contrast (sky/ground, figure/tomb, face/clothes, gate/pillars), and so loses a huge amount of a photographic sense to my eye.

Spooky! Neat idea, very unique and interesting. Not a huge fan of the post processing tho, it seems a little patchy.

Great idea but way too much dodging in my mind. It's okay that he glows in the dark but not the surroundings - 6
