Two apples sitting in the window of my shed, which is screened with hogwire...tried something a little out of the ordinary by putting apples behind the wire with a vine growing up wire;tried to deepen the color and give it a more painterly look. . levels, hue/saturation, shadow/highlight, cropped, smart sharpen.
It certainly has been hard for me to find time to photograph ANYTHING since I brought my puppy home! He keeps me very busy. Also, someone is going to think this image is crooked, but I leveled using the window frame, the wire is nailed at an angle.

sometimes I think maybe my images are not mainstream enough or copies of previous challenge winners..haha..doesn't matter..I have to go wherever my vision takes me; and I like that direction.

This was surprisingly under-appreciated, and there's no clue in the comments as to why. I saw it only after the challenge, but I'd have placed in in the top ten (and certainly higher than any of the top three). But even leaving my erratic tastes aside, it had many qualities that should have been embraced by the leaden masses at DPC as well. It has beautiful colours and textures, and the composition is classically appealing. There is also a certain amount of very charming whimsy; leaves and fruit, separated by the wire mesh ... surely there's some irresistible allegorical (or at least figurative) dimension to that? Maybe you should have just hammered a fistful of nails into the apples.

nice simple arrangement with strong geometry contrasting with a more organic shape on the diagonal. 8

This meets the challenge – it’s inanimate and arranged. 6
