Boy, I guess I missed the mark on this challenge! I never even considered a human subject! I'm just a little on the literal side. LOL!

I'm pretty happy that out of the non-human subject photos I did pretty good though. Thanks for all the comments.

This does not say "portrait" to me. Good DOF, though I find the leaves in front of the branches distracting.

Love the shallow DOF and the pastel background colours with the sharp contrasting colours of the bird. The size and placement of the bird is excellent.

I see no link to this challenge at all. Great shot though.

Photograph a portrait that says something about the subject within the framework of their own environment.

Great clarity on the bird, nice use of DOF. I would have cropped a bit tighter. That reddish blur is distracting, but it's still a great shot.
