 This was taken the day before we left New Zealand at this really pretty place called Boulder Bay in Nelson.
The original was wonky and a little on the dark and dull side. After tweaking with contract, brightness and saturation - voila!

A nice idea and good composition, but you could make a couple of improvements to make this a great shot. First of all, use a smaller aperture to get a much better depth of field. A shot like this really really needs a good depth of field, and f/11 just isn't going to give that to you.

Secondly, it looks like you've used a fill-in flash. This has not done the subject any favors at all, and the foreground colors have been washed out as a result.

If you have a problem of light intensity variation between the land a sky, it's usually best to use a graduated neutral density filter to darken one half and bring the shot into balance.
