Ok, i took this shot while on a trip w/ some buddies to Little Missouri Falls in northern arkansas. The water at the falls was so high, higher than any other time i've ever been. i had almost forgot about this challenge until i dropped my lenscap in one of the little streams and got the idea for this one. it took quite a few shots, because the lighting was starting to get somewhat harsh from the sun coming over the mountains, but i found this little shady place and was able to get this.

i don't know how this will do, but i absolutely love black and white when there's rocks, plus the original just didn't have much color at all.

Post Processing:

slight crop for composition
unsharp mask throughout entire photo
black and white conversion, with slight contrast and gamma corrections to the entire image
save for web

hope you all enjoy.

Greetings from the Critique Club,
Despite thinking this challenge was not one of DPC"s finest moments in terms of topics, you did a wonderful job creating an appealing and dare I even say emotional shot. The cap looks sad and lost, the poor owner has lost his lens. The tones of the image are pleasant and mood enhancing. The composition works very well, and I really like the water droplets on the lens itself, I would not have known this was a waterfall if you had not said so, but the inclusion of the drops adds a 'time' element. I also really like the textures in this shot.

I honestly could not tell you what you could do to improve this image, very nicely done.
happy shooting.

Nice dark, dramatic shot. I like the inclusion of water. I'm guessing that there was some rotation because I get a little dizzy if I look too closely for too long.

Let's hope this poor lens has been found a given a good home! The background is kind of ambiguous and a bit disturbing. It looks kind of like water, but then again, maybe not.

wow, I like this photo, the focus is great and the background is a little disturbing but I like it, I hope you don't get hammered for "too abstract" cuz I think it looks good that way
