i bet you some additional lighting underneath to lighten up subject's "face" would have helped too. Background is great..

Well done mate, I thought you might have finished a bit higher than 24th
as I had you in my Top Six for what its worth.

Clever figurine, but for me the part that "sold" the image was the background lighting. On my short list, at the top! Excellent entry, made me smile!
