 Painted several silk roses white, grey and black to achieve the de-saturated look. Real rose in the middle. Shot against a seamless white back drop.

I'm not sure that DOF is used this way for a still life. Nice focus and lighting on the red rose.

This is a floral that really stands out (no pun intended). I think you made it different by accentuating the "stand out" with limited DOF as well as the obvious color difference. Nice work.
